About Me

Hi, my name is Melissa Bair and I started this blog to help myself organize our meals and keep it simple in the kitchen. I have struggled with stressing over what to make for dinner for years. I have a husband who is all meat and potatoes and I have myself who could be content being a vegetarian.  Throw three kids into the mix, and food allergies, I am lucky I still have hair on my head! I grew up on the American Diet eating fast food and drinking soda, but when I turned a teen I decided I wanted to be a vegetarian and did so for eight years. I have tried so many different ways of eating because there is always a new fad “diet” that is healthier than the last. The information out there is always changing and it got me so overwhelmed. I knew it shouldn’t be this complicated! Food is our bodies fuel and can heal it but also hurt it.

I believe to be healthy, we need to find that balance and create a lifestyle around fueling our bodies through eating simple. I understand we are all individuals and each person handles different types of food in different ways. I have let go of all those fad “diets” and have focused on eating REAL FOOD and creating balance within the food groups. I hope that you can find flexibility in my FREE 6 Simple + Family Approved Dinners for the busy mom Meal Plan and Grocery List. I hope you use this meal plan and make it your own for your family, but that the overall bones of the meal plan works to make dinner time stress free in your house.

I love using seasonal foods to help make simple meals unique, while also saving money on our food bill. I love that these  6 Simple + Family Approved Dinners give my husband his meat, the kids get healthy balanced meals, and I get my sanity back! Stress, I have learned, is not good for the body. This meal plan makes cooking for my family a fun time to enjoy together, because when I have everything planned out I am happy. My motto is to stress less and play more!

I have created a theme for each night. This makes it fun for the kids and lets my husband know what to expect for dinner when he gets home from work. I cook most everything from scratch. I hope to show you that you can still make quick meals on a budget and enjoy nutrient dense foods to fuel your families bodies. I would love for you to follow me on my journey to continue to find ways to keep it simple at the dinner table.

My final goal is to create a cookbook for my children, as a gift for when they start a family. I do not want them to go through this struggle of trying to figure out what to put on the table each night.

Along with the many family approved recipes you will find on my site, I also want to share my love of family time, fitness and how I find balance in my life in all areas. I have always had a passion of sharing what is working for me with others. If I can bring a smile, give someone a tip, or just relate to them so they don’t feel alone, then I did what I set out to do with this blog.  I love eating healthy, working out and enjoy passing that down to my children. Going after dreams, building self confidence, sleeping more, stressing less, and staying hydrated are all things that give me balance in my life, so I can be happy. I cannot wait to keep on sharing my life with you! Join my monthly newsletter to get new recipes, family fun tips, fitness ideas and ways I find balance in your inbox.

To Stressing Less and Playing More,

Melissa 🙂
