Baked Macaroni and Cheese

A great dish to bring to a BBQ. This is a family favorite that has been with me since I was a kid and now my kids love it!
Ingredients
  • 2 Tbsp Corn Starch
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • ¼ tsp Pepper
  • 2 ½ cups Milk
  • 2 Tbsp Butter
  • 8 ounces Cheddar Cheese, shredded (about 2 cups) I use the whole 12 oz bar of cheese and shred it myself. It tastes better this way. :)
  • 8 ounces Macaroni, cooked as on box (ex: elbow, shell, penni.) A 10 or 12 oz box works too.
Instructions
  1. In medium saucepan combine corn starch, salt, and pepper; Stir in milk until smooth.
  2. Add butter stirring constantly, bring to boil over medium-high heat and boil 1 minute.
  3. Remove from heat. Reserve ¼ (I do ½ cup cheese for topping.) Stir in remaining cheese until melted. Add cooked macaroni.
  4. Turn into greased 2-quart casserole. Sprinkle with reserved cheese. Bake uncovered in 375 degree oven 25 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.
