This is a great pizza to make as a family. The kids love to help out and enjoy the process of making their own pizza. The sky is the limit on what you can put on your pizza. We love, diced tomatoes, peppers, onions, pepperoni, broccoli, and zucchini or whatever is in season. We use mozzarella but my oldest loves cheddar cheese so we also use that as a topping. My husband and I switch it up and make calzones some weeks. Enjoy and be creative! Don't forget to check out my homemade Exquisite Pizza Sauce. Makes 4-8" pizzas or 2-14" pizzas For planning ahead, give yourself an hour for rising time before making.
Ingredients
  • 2½ tsp Active Dry Yeast, 1 packet
  • 1 cup Warm Water, 105F to 115F
  • 1 tsp Honey
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil, plus additional for brushing the pizza crust
  • 3 cups All purpose White Flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
Instructions
  1. Set oven for 450 degrees.
  2. Dump in warm water, yeast packet and honey into kitchen aid mixer and let sit for 2 minutes. Then stir and add the olive oil, flour, and then the salt on top.
  3. Turn on the mixer until it is pretty well formed with just a few crumbles and then need it for a few minutes (or switch to the dough hook). Plop the ball of dough in a bowl, cover with saran wrap and set the timer for 30 minutes.
  4. When thats done need a little more, divide into two or four dough balls. I get a cookie sheet, cover that in saran, spray with olive oil, put the dough balls on that, spray them with pam so the saran doesn't stick to bad. Cover with saran and set the timer for 30 minutes again.
  5. Once done roll out into pizzas. Add sauce and toppings and cook for 10 - 12 minutes at 450 degrees F.
