Who has game nights at least once a week with their family? We do!! We have board games we love as well, but when you have a large group of people you want some great card games so everyone can be involved. Over the years, we have collected some fun twists on card games and it is nice to switch it up. Here are the games we have on hand that we pull out and play when we have extra time after dinner or when we have company. It is always great to have something fun to do while we are talking and catching up. All of these games are small enough that you can throw them in your purse or bring them on vacation to play when you find yourself with extra time. I believe we need to find ways to get the kids off the iPads and TV screens and in front of us interacting as a family. These games are a great place to start. 🙂
*I have the Amazon links to order these games also, if you are looking to add them to your game nights.
SkipBo- You can have up to 6 players with this game. A simple game that you catch onto quickly. My four year old plays this game and understands it. It has been great for his number practice and counting up to 12.
Spot it! – There are so many versions of this game. We have the original one. You can have up to 8 players with his fun matching game!
Phase 10 – It is a Rummy inspired game! Great for an extra challenge for my older kids.
Uno – This has been around for years and still a great game! This game has helped my youngest practice his colors and numbers.
SWAP! – The kids get really into this game with the swiping of sloping of the cards at times. Very interactive game and changes each time you play it!
Telephone – Do you remember playing this in elementary school? We now play it after dinner is over most nights. Nothing needed but some funny phrases. Lots of laughter as the phrase gets twisted and changed as it goes around the table. This has been a huge hit with company over. Somehow poop always comes up in the kids phrases. haha
