This list will grow over time but I thought I would share a few things I use weekly in my kitchen and a few extra things that bring joy to my life. The Electric Tortilla Maker -As a family we decided to start making our own taco shells since we have TACO TUESDAY every week. We got this amazing kitchen gadget and we haven’t bought store tortillas since! You will seriously never go back to them after you have made these simple homemade flour tortilla shells. We have even used this as a fun group gathering event as a taco bar where my husband maned the Electric Tortilla Maker and made fresh taco shells for each guest as they made their meal. It was a BIG hit!
Scoop It – Batter Spoons – These were a gift from my mom and I now use them ALL the time! I didn’t realize how much I needed something like this. They are so easy to use with their shape to pour batter for perfectly sized pancakes and waffles. They help me measure out my muffins so that all are the SAME size! No more trying to measure with my bulky measuring cups and losing batter that gets stuck inside. Another plus is that the kids no longer argue on who gets the bigger muffin or pancake because they all are the same size now. LOVE IT! My favorite muffin recipe is our Banana Oat Muffins! Go check them out!
Silicone Mini Muffin Pan – When you have kids anything that you can cook that is tiny and cute is a hit! I learned that when I made a random batch of mini muffins once and they ate all of them over the big ones. I was on to something. haha Well, I love this silicone pan because it is an easy clean up and no paper liners needed. My favorite way to use this pan outside of muffins is to freeze lemon juice ice cubes. When lemons are in season, I am making ice cubes! They pop out so easy and this pan works wonderfully for that task. A great addition to the kitchen for more than one use.
Fountain Hot Air Popper – We have had one that shoots the popcorn out into a bowl but you would get random hot kernels and popcorn flying everywhere sometimes. This one is FUN for the kids to watch as the popcorn falls over the edge and fills up the bowl. You just flip the machine over once it is finished and all the loose kernels, if any, will fall into the red base so no hard kernel when enjoying your popcorn. We also melt some KerryGold butter to drizzle over it and sprinkle with our Himalayan pink salt. This is great for our family movie nights as well as a great crunchy snack in my kids lunches. 🙂 Check out our Lunch Box Monday page to see other school lunch ideas.
Kitchen Aid Mixer – This is used weekly with our pizza night, taco night, and even sometimes on our pasta night when we make our own pasta! Cookies and cupcakes are made in this also! I love the easy clean up and the durability of it. It is pleasing to the eye to sit on the counter but also fits in most cabinets. I love all the attachments that comes with it and how they change out easily as well. Best investment we made. The kids love watching our creations come to life in this bowel!
SkipBo – This family game night game was introduced to us by my great aunt Mary when we visited my family in Georgia. They have game nights weekly and the kids just loved this game. Even my 4 year old plays it with us and understands the rules. Now we bring this game wherever we go and share it with others! Who else has a game night at least once a week with their family? If not, start now by getting this game! 😉 Why not pop some air popped popcorn to enjoy with the game as well.
Spot it! – I was introduced to this game by my friend Ashley. She brought it over to play with the kids and they just LOVED it! I ordered it online that night so we could have our own to play when Ashley wasn’t around. This is the original version but there are sport themes, numbers and shapes, and so many more that you can get as gifts. It is in a small circle tin to make it easy to take with you when traveling or throw it in your purse for times you need something to keep the kids occupied when waiting. Enjoy it!
Dried Elderberries – I have been making my own Elderberry Syrup since 2014. I was buying it from the store for a few years before that because of the natural benefits it brings to your immune system. Elderberries help with fighting colds and keeping your body healthier during fall and winter when colds are spreading like crazy with kids. I have seen a big difference in the fewer amount of colds the kids have had during these seasons and how fast my kids bounce back from a cold when taking this daily. Check out the recipe I use here!
