I mainly only use this recipe when I am making my Refried Pinto Beans because it is needed in that recipe. When I do make it, I always have extra and enjoy eating the garlic plain. I could see making garlic bread as well with the roasted garlic. It sure does make the house smell amazing!
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and then trip any roots so the garlic will sit flat if possible. Then, trip a think slice off the top of the bulbs to expose a little of each of the cloves. Drizzle olive oil over the top and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place them in a baking dish and pour hot water on the bottom until it reaches about 1/3 of the bottom of the bulbs.
Cover it tightly with tin foil and bake for an hour to an hour and a half. Get ready for your house to smell amazing! Once done remove the garlic from the baking dish and let cool. The soft cooked cloves just pop out so easily for use in any dish! 🙂 I use it most in my Refried Beans.
